RaceTools is a timing and scoring data analysis and strategy tool.

This software package is designed to efficiently summarize timing data provided by the sanctioning series’ pit lane real time data feed. It allows for easy tracking of cars on track, summaries of performance indices, real-time lap performance and projections, and strategy management. There are also additional features designed to aid the user with summarization of session and race performance. In addition, the software is highly user configurable to allow for analysis and formatting tailored to the users specific display needs.

History:
RaceTools was developed in 2005 in collaboration with a ChampCar race team from the ground up as a data analysis and race strategy tool. Over the last 13 years, it has been used by dozens of teams including all of the teams in INDYCAR and many of the teams in Indy Lights, USF2000, Pro Mazda, and IMSA. The software is constantly being upgraded and enhanced based on user feedback.

– marching ants show where you are relative to other cars, compare best laps, best sections, with other cars and laps.
Session Results – filter by class, see how you are doing. Dozens of data fields to choose from.
Live Section Times – see cars are doing on their current lap, projected lap times and rank.
Pit Windows – projected pit windows for all cars, updated in real time based on track status.
Graphs – Gap Analysis, Lap Times, Section Times, Tow, compare stints
Tables – Best Splits, Best Lap, All Lap Times, Average Laps, Drive Times
Excel Export – update an Excel workbook in real time with lap times, driver, positions, etc. for custom analysis.
Running Order – quickly see where you are on track relative to other cars, in your class and overall. See if you get a wave-by or pass-around during a caution. Monitor your competitors to see if you should pit.
Load and Replay previous session data – prepare for the next event by replaying last year’s sessions. Analyze past performance.
